As a girl with thin, short hair I am willing to try anything to make my hair thicker. I have tried everything to thickening shampoo to vitamins and recently I have tried coconut oil. I have tried this a few times to see if I could tell a difference in my hair and I HAVE! I have noticed that my hair doesn't fall out as much and not to mention it makes your hair SUPER SUPER soft!!!

TIP: TO GET THE BEST OUTCOME MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR IS DAMP!

Materials:

1. Coconut oil

2. Two bowls

-These need to be two different sizes. One small one big. The smaller bowl need to fit inside of the bigger bowl.

3. Comb or pick

-Whichever you prefer or have on hand. (I used a comb)

4. A towel or shower cap. (I used a towel)

5. A spoon

Step One: Once you have gathered all of your materials grab your bowls. Make sure that the two bowls that you have chosen are two different sizes. The smaller of the two bowls needs to fit inside of the bigger one. Grab the bigger of the two bowls and put hot water inside of it. Make sure the water is as hot as you can get it because this is how we are going to melt the coconut oil. However, when you are filling the bowl with water do not fill it very high. In fact, fill it less than half. Fill it about 1/4 of the way so when you place the smaller bowl inside it will not over flow.

Step Two: Now, grab the smaller of the two bowls, the coconut oil, and your spoon. Use your spoon to scoop out the coconut oil and place it into the smaller of the two bowls. Depending on how thick or long your hair is you may need more than one scoop. I personally didn't even use all of mine.

Step Three: Now you have placed the coconut oil in the smaller bowl, now place the smaller bowl into the bigger bowl with the hot water. The smaller bowl should basically be floating on the water in the bigger bowl. Now, you wait for the oil to melt. Make sure that it melts completely before your continue.

Step Four: The coconut oil should now be completely melted! Now that it is all melted you are ready to start putting the coconut oil in your hair! Place your fingers in the coconut oil and start to run your fingers through your hair. If you are putting the coconut oil in your hair to make it grow faster or just make your hair healthier I suggest massaging the coconut oil into your scalp. If your have bad dead ends put extra coconut oil on the ends of your hair.

Step Five: Once you are done putting the coconut oil into your hair brush it out with a comb or pick to distribute the coconut oil evenly. Then, you are going yo put your hair in a towel or shower cap and just let it sit in your hair. I have found the longer that you leave the coconut oil in your hair the better your results will be. I tend to put the coconut oil in my hair at night, after my shower, before bed so I can sleep with it in my hair!

Step Six: To get the coconut oil out of your hair wash your hair with shampoo! I also use conditioner just because it is just a habit.

TADA!!! Your hair is conditioned and soft as can be!! ENJOY!

XOXO,

Caroline
