Contrary to the title of this post my week was anything but simple. It started out fine just a lot of homework. Nothing new. However, Thursday night my roommate and I decided to try yoga. Don't get me wrong we both love yoga but this yoga instructor was not our cup of tea. Therefore, yoga was a little rough.
After yoga we got a text from our RA telling us that she needed to talk to us. Don't worry we did not get in trouble :-). Our RA just wanted to tell us that our room may have some water come through since we live in the basement and we were expecting a big storm. After she was done talking to my roommate and I we both went back to our room to start our homework.
Not even a minute after we started our homework there was a knock at the door. It was another RA from another hall. When she came in she imminently went to the far corner to look for water and, there was a huge puddle. Our room has now begin to flood. However, little did we know this was just the beginning.
Once we noticed the flooding it only got worse. The carpet went to damp, to soaking, to a an inch or two of water. Our room at this point was basically a pool. Since our room got so bad we had to move all of our furniture out of our room and move it to another room with a different roommate. As you can imagine it was no fun moving everything and into a new room with a new roommate. However, I am going to make the best out of it and just make even more friends. :-)
After all of this happened I luckily got to take a short trip to my favorite little town EVER, Paducah, Kentucky. I already had this trip planned but this trip also happened at a very convenient time. I had a great trip I got to play lots of tennis, spend time with my O'daddy (grandpa), and I even got to meet my Mimi and O'daddy's new puppy!!! I am excited to head back to Belmont and make the best out of everything that has happened!
XOXO,
Caroline
