If you read my latest post, titled 'Just Simply My Week', you would know that my dorm flooded and I had to relocate to a new hall and get a new roommate. Not as bad as it sounds but a little frustrating. But luckily for all you freshman or college students living in dorms I can now share what it is like to have your bed lofted!
In my first room I decided not to loft my bed because I was scared I was going to fall out and did't want to climb all the way up to my bed on a ladder. Even though those two statement are true, there are many benefits to lofting your bed. The best thing about lofting your bed is you have MUCH more space. When you loft your bed you can put your desk AND your dresser under your bed. This allows more room for an extra chair, a futon for guests, and just more furniture in general.
However even though more space does sound very nice in a dorm room, lofting is still a pain to get up and down. Personally it hurts my feet a little bit as I am climbing up and down the side ladder. Another down side is that your bed will be a little wobbly. Therefore, it may shake as you are climbing up and down, which may be scary for some but you will also get used to it.
Those are my pros and cons to lofting a bed. Some people love it and some people do not like it. It is all up to you but the more space you have in a dorm the better!
