Atlantis Travel Guide

This past week my family and I took a trip down the the Atlantis. The Atlantis is located on Paradise Islands which is right off the coast of Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. The Atlantis is still apart of the Bahamas because they are connected by a very long, steep bridge. The Atlantis roughly around 20-30 minutes from the International Airport located in Nassau. This may sound like a long drive but with the view is worth it!

Places to Eat |

1. Cafe Matisse

Cafe Matisse is about a 20 minute drive from the Atlantis. However, let me tell you, the drive is worth it! This restaurant is an Italian restaurant with the cutest back porch! If you are looking to also stay at Baha Mar this cute cafe is only about 5-10 minutes away.

2. Poop Deck

Despite its name, they have great seafood! When I was there I ordered the grouper and my dad ordered the salmon, and they are both to die for! The Poop Deck is a great place for your family yo have a night away from the resort. Not to mention it overlooks the ocean.

3. Virgil's

If you are planning on having dinner on the resort I highly recommend Virgil's. It has some of the best barbecue I have ever had! Trust me because I have to say Nashville has some great barbecue. One of the best things about this restaurant is that it is served family style. I would say each dish feeds about 3-4 people depending on how hungry y'all are! For an appetizer you NEED to try the loaded fries. That may have been the best part of the meal. On top on the loaded fries I highly recommend the fried chicken!

4. Marina Pizzaria

The Marina Pizzaria is located in the Atlantis Village. The pizza is great if you want a low key night with your family. However, in my opinion the pizza and burgers were just as good as the fancy restaurants.

Day Time Activities |

During the day there are lots of things to do! There are three different beaches and 13 pools scattered across the resort. On top of that there are 18+ water slides throughout the resort for all ages! However, if you plan on going at a busy time the year it can be very hard to find chairs. When my family goes during Christmas we have to sometimes wake up at 6 a.m. just to get seats for all of us. However, if you plan on going in the summer you should have no problem finding chairs.

Night Time Activities |

My night time activities mostly consisted of going to the casino and playing my favorite card game, Black Jack. However, if all the Black Jack tables are all or to expensive there is one table of Spanish 21 which is almost identical to Black Jack. Other than the casino there is a bar located in the casino named Dragons. Dragons is a great place to go and and dance with your family and you do not have to pay to get in! However, you do need to be 18 or older. There is another night club called Aura. Aura is not my personal favorite and guys do have to pay to get in. Lastly, there is shopping! However, the stores are rather expensive.

When I was younger my family would all go to the village where there is live music. All the kids would go dance while the parents got some down time and would watch us dance away. There are also a bunch of kiosks selling local jewelry and many more things!

How to Save Money |

The drinks by the pool are very expensive. Therefore, if you want to save money run to a grocery store on your way up to the resort and buy all the drinks you want! It will save you LOTS! While you are already at the grocery store grab some snacks for when you sit by the pool!

Make Reservations |

Depending on what time the year you go to the Atlantis it is important you make all your reservations ahead of time if you are panning on eating on the resort. If you make a reservation make sure you either show up or cancel a day in advance. There is a no show fee of $50! No one wants to pay for a meal they didn't even eat.

Overall, the Atlantis is a great place to go spend time with your family. There are activities for all ages! I highly recommend traveling to the Atlantis at least one! My family and I have been 10+ times, and it is worth it every time!

XOXO,

Caroline
