College Essentials

School is right around the corner and everyone is scrambling to get the last minute essentials. You're probably thinking about your dorm room and what to pack. To bedding, to decor, and finally to bathroom essentials. This fall I will be returning to Belmont University as a sophomore! I can't believe freshman year is already over?! However, when I moved in freshman year I had to have my mom make a Target run because I didn't buy everything I needed in advance. Below I am going to share the items I didn't know I would need.

Command Hooks | Command hooks work for everything! Last year they hung every single item that was on my wall! Even though I brought some to Belmont with me, I did not bring enough. Trust me, you can never have enough command hooks. If you bring to many they will come in handy later. I bought many things throughout the year that needed to be hung therefore, having extra command hooks is a good idea!

Extension Cords |

Between my roommate and I, I think we used a total of 4-5 extension cords. Depending on where your bed is located you will need just as many!

Headboard | Most people purchase these any way, but a headboard is a must. No one wants to sit up against a cold wall. Therefore, a headboard will solve this issue. I used mine just about every time I did my homework in bed.

Bins for Under Your Bed |

Having extra storage is a must in college. It can be hard at times to fit everything in the furniture you are given. I have six bins from Bed Bath and Beyond that fit right under my bed. They worked perfect and held all of my clothes! In the chest of drawers that Belmont provided I put my sweatshirts and pajamas in the top drawer, all my food in the middle drawer, and dished such as plates, silverware, and mugs in the bottom drawer. I found this worked best because it gave me a good place to put all my food and dishes!

String Lights |

My roommate and I hung string lights where the wall and ceiling meet. String lights come in handy at night when you want very little light. We also kept them on when we watched TV on the floor because without them the TV had a glare.
